Last night, under the magnificent arcades of Place Nationale, right in the heart of Montauban, another tasting evening organized by Cigare et Compagnie took place. At the pub-brasserie Ô Temple, Yoann, the man of the house, had set up a long table under the arcades, with outdoor heaters running to keep things comfortable despite the mild winter evening. Guests quickly took their seats, and by 8pm everyone had arrived: the evening could begin.
After a presentation of the spirit of Cigare et Compagnie and the mission behind every event — sharing, passing on knowledge and helping people discover new things — we began the tasting with a remarkable cigar: the Flor de Selva 20 Aniversario EGOÍSTA.
This stocky short robusto was created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Maya Selva brand. With exemplary construction, it delivers an elegant, round smoke, offering a subtle interplay of aromas blending sweet wood, dried fruit and a fine hint of coffee. Accessible yet refined, this cigar immediately won over the guests, who let themselves be carried away by its balance and delicacy.
During this first tasting, the Ô Temple team generously brought out the starter tapas along with the drinks (to be enjoyed responsibly). Smiles quickly lit up faces around the table. The evening also welcomed many new participants, some having traveled from farther away, proof that Cigare et Compagnie‘s evenings now appeal well beyond Montauban. You could feel that something special was taking shape: a joyful, relaxed atmosphere, where people simply enjoy meeting, talking and sharing.

As the evening went on, the grilled meats arrived, perfectly cooked and delicious, accompanied by lively conversation, bursts of laughter and genuine moments. Then it was time to move on to the second cigar of the evening: the Plasencia Cosecha 149 Cortez.
This magnificent perfecto, made from a rigorous selection of Honduran harvests, pays tribute to the Plasencia family tradition. Its dense, deep smoke gradually unfolds aromas of dark chocolate, toasted wood and sweet spices, with a wonderfully elegant creamy finish. From the very first puffs, this cigar won everyone over. It accompanied the delicious sweets served at the end of the meal, and kept delighting guests late into the evening, its aromatic profile leaving a lasting impression.
Being able to present these two superb cigars was a true pleasure. They perfectly embody the DNA of Cigare et Compagnie: introducing people to distinctive cigars, offering brand-new experiences, creating a space where newcomers and aficionados alike feel at ease, and passing on this art of pleasure, of slowing down, and of sharing.
And the story keeps being written… as this evening falls almost symbolically at the same time as the anniversary of my very first cigar event in Montauban: December 11, 2021, exactly four years to the day, when I organized my first tasting alongside Cyril Pelizzari, with whom we later founded a club that marked the beginnings of this wonderful adventure.
This evening wouldn’t have been possible without the involvement of several essential partners.
A huge thank you to Julien from Maya Selva, who, despite his absence, helped make this evening a success.
A big thank you to Yoann and the whole team at Pub Ô Temple, whose warm and professional welcome once again made this an exceptional moment.
And of course, deep gratitude to Jean-Marie from Le Lalande, Montauban’s essential tobacconist, for his constant support and his commitment to promoting cigar culture alongside Cigare et Compagnie.
We end this wonderful evening with full hearts and satisfied senses.
We wish you all a wonderful holiday season and look forward to seeing you on January 29, 2026 for a new evening that already promises to be memorable.
See you very soon,
Cigare et Compagnie
Let’s share a cigar in good company.
