Last week, Cigare et Compagnie had the privilege of organizing an absolutely extraordinary evening around a legendary cigar: the God of Fire by Carlito.
We were just 15 lucky guests gathered at La Caravelle in Montauban, to live through a rare, almost surreal experience.
Because some tastings mark a moment…

An extremely rare, almost legendary cigar
The God of Fire by Carlito is far more than a cigar: it’s a collector’s item, an object of desire for the most knowledgeable enthusiasts.
For this Pyramide edition, only 420 boxes exist in the world. And that evening… two of them were in Montauban, at La Caravelle, thanks to the determination of Jean-Marie from Le Lalande.
From the moment we arrived, the cigar sat on its pedestal, almost sacred, drawing every eye.
After an aperitif, everyone waited with palpable impatience for the moment they’d all been anticipating: coming face to face with this extraordinary cigar.
A generous table before the reveal
Before giving in to the call of the flame, the guests took their seats at the table, where Thomas and Anne-Sophie, our hosts at La Caravelle, once again showed off their talent and generosity.
Course after course arrived, refined, flavorful, flawlessly executed.
But despite the pleasure of the table… attention kept drifting back to the cigar waiting for its moment.
When the desserts arrived… the temptation was too strong.
Some couldn’t resist.
They wanted to taste it. Now.
The story of a cigar born of fire and myth
Before lighting up, yours truly shared the singular story of the God of Fire by Carlito.
Born from the collaboration between the Fuente family and Prometheus, this cigar pays tribute to the myth of Prometheus, who stole fire from the gods to give it to mankind. A powerful symbolism, found even in the cigar’s band, which depicts the mythological scene.
Produced in very limited quantities, made with long-aged tobaccos and exceptional artisanal precision, the God of Fire is designed as a work of art, not just a cigar.
A cigar that isn’t simply smoked…
It’s lived.
An unforgettable sensory experience
Then came the moment.
The lighting.
The silence.
The first puff.
And immediately… it was obvious.
Every guest was struck by the aromatic richness of this cigar. A rare finesse, a silky texture, an enveloping smoothness. Perfectly controlled power, never harsh, always elegant.
The draw was light, smooth and natural.
The smoke was dense yet delicate, flavorful, with a long finish.
A remarkable balance between intensity and refinement.
A subtle complexity that kept evolving.
Many of the guests had never tasted a cigar of such quality.
Some called it an absolute benchmark.
Others said it was a tasting memory they’d carry forever.
We were all… simply happy.
Intoxicated with satisfaction, pleasure, and that rare feeling of having lived through a truly unique moment.
